WellDog’s patented instruments were developed specifically to perform chemical analysis
in harsh fluid environments. The first instruments were designed for use in
analyzing deep sea natural gas and gas hydrates. WellDog is the only company
that performs direct measurements on wellbore fluids and analyzes collected data
immediately. Information collected is transmitted real-time via satellite
to WellDog’s headquarters for immediate monitoring to ensure valid test results.
This advantage is in direct contrast to the inferential process of coring.
WellDog does not position itself as an “alternative to coring” nor is it another
logging or wireline service. WellDog is the best, most accurate method of
performing direct, full spectrum gas analysis and represents the first generation
of analysis and risk management services created specifically for the unconventional
natural gas marketplace.

In order to gain entry into the marketplace, WellDog recognized the need to establish
credibility and reliability against an accepted standard of analysis. A comparison
to coring, therefore, was a required first step. Using their downhole, in
situ service, Critical Gas Content™ (CGC), WellDog conducted numerous correlation
studies to compare WellDog’s results to core sample desorption tests. Results
shown above indicated strong correlation to the gas content results provided by
coring.
All of WellDog’s services use the same platform technology for data monitoring and
analysis. Information is collected from the spectrometer and monitored at
the collection point. The data are then transmitted real-time via satellite
to WellDog’s Data Analysis and Information Center. After thorough vetting
and analysis, a report is delivered to the customer within three days.
WellDog’s Critical Gas Content™
is suitable for analysis in a recently completed well or a well without a pump installed.
This positions the service for use in exploration, infill drilling, exploitation
and step out development. It may be used in combination with a coring test
to provide a “comfort level” for operators who have previously relied only on coring.
It is important to note, however, that operators will rarely perform many core tests
due to the cost and the time it takes to receive results. WellDog’s analysis
service, however, may be used on several wells in a field because of the low cost,
non-intrusive, non-invasive technique and quick turnaround time for results.
WellDog’s TopSide Solutions™
is an advanced analysis service that performs chemical analysis on a completed well
that is pumping water. No other service of its kind exists in the marketplace
today. Prior to the release of TopSide Solutions, operators had no way of
testing a well in production short of pulling the pump and using WellDog’s CGC.
TopSide Solutions can be completed at the wellhead in less than three hours.
