$100MM+ in gas found
1,000,000,000+ gallons of water production avoided
Want to get more gas and less water?
Planning a development and drilling program is one thing. Making it happen in the field is another. We're here to help, with the most accurate, least disruptive methods for quickly and safely collecting the key reservoir data that can guide you to the gas. Our staff has worked in the oil patch for decades, and we know when to jump in and help and when to get out of your way. To see examples of how we've helped others, please refer to our case studies here.
Know when to go the extra mile
The practical details involved in adapting existing completion and production techniques to a new coal seam or field can be daunting. When there's little or no gas in the coal, tweaking your cement weight or drawdown rate will have no effect on production performance. We can find your gas so that you can confidently bring your best game to the challenge of unlocking it.
Measure the drawdown required to produce your gas
When you're working in an undersaturated reservoir, things usually go according to plan when drilling and completing. But when dewatering starts, and water lifting and handling costs start to stack up, you need to be prepared. We can quickly and inexpensively check the critical desorption pressure in each of your wells, and work with you to evaluate the current hydrostatic surface in your field. With that information in your production model, you can more confidently answer the question "when will my gas show up?"
Troubleshoot completion and production problems
Inherit a wellbore that isn't performing like it should? Our downhole technical service evaluates the solution gas, total dissolved solids, temperature, and pressure through the entire water column in your wellbore. Discontinuities in these markers can reveal unexpected completion issues, such as mis-set casing, casing breaches, incorrect perforation depths, and shale stringers in your coal that complicate production results. When you don't know if it's the well or the reservoir, call us. We can help.
Use hard data to make your case
Sometimes what happens in the field doesn't correlate with the plans that come out of the head office. When you think the company is going down the wrong path in its field development, don't resort to talking about gut feelings and anecdotal information. We have fast, inexpensive services that can get you the data you need to make your case and avoid unnecessary development failures.
Avoid disruption to your drilling and completion program
We have tested hundreds of wells. Just about every one of them demanded that we prepare thoroughly and then act quickly and decisively when in the field. We can send our tool downhole into wells that have no pump or tubing. We can backpressure your discharge pipe and test your reservoir without pulling your existing pump and tubing. We can assess whether the fluid tested is valid reservoir fluid or drilling or completion fluid. In every case, our goal is to get the most accurate data possible while minimizing disruption to your operations.
