James Walker joins WellDog executive team

WellDog announced today that James Walker has joined its executive team as EVP, Commercial Development.  Walker is a well-known industry executive who prior led QuantX, an Expro-Baker Hughes joint venture company that subsequently became ProductionQuest at Baker Hughes, to over $200 million in sales.  At WellDog, Walker is leading growth of the company’s reservoir testing business unit, which provides gas and permeability testing services to coal seam gas, coal mine and conventional oil and gas operators around the world.

“James is a highly energetic leader with extensive experience across a variety of product and service lines and geomarkets,” said John M. Pope, Ph.D., President and CEO of WellDog.  “His strategic thinking combined with his practical skills make him a great fit for our company.”

Walker will be based in the company’s Brisbane office and will be active throughout the company’s worldwide operations.

“WellDog’s innovative technical products and services are important to improving the resource industry’s economics and environmental sustainability,” said Walker.  “I look forward to growing the WellDog business by helping our customers more accurately and cost-efficiently characterize their subsurface assets.”

Walker is a native of Bristol, U.K. He received a B.S. in Geology from the University of Nottingham and a MBA from The Robert Gordon University.  He served as VP Sales at Expro International Group, then as President of QuantX Wellbore Instrumentation, following that company into Baker Hughes where he served as VP, Operations and Marketing at ProductionQuest, and then VP Intelligent Production Systems at Baker Hughes.  He subsequently served as Chief Operating Officer at Qantapoint, a venture-backed oil and gas technology company.
