Brisbane Bandits Steal Home with Top Honours

Brisbane Bandits10 March, 2015 (Brisbane, Australia) – WellDog announced today that the Major League Baseball-backed Brisbane Bandits and its CEO, Mark Ready, were awarded the Team Administration of the Year Award and the Chairman’s Award at the 2015 Baseball Australia Diamond Award, respectively, at the 2015 Baseball Australia Diamond Awards held in Sydney. The Bandits are one of six Australian Baseball League (ABL) teams.

“We are proud but not surprised,” said WellDog CEO John M. Pope, Ph.D. “Mark and his team have made enormous strides this year with the program. Their professionalism, dedication and innovation attracted us as a naming rights sponsor, and we’re pleased to be associated with them.”

The UQ Business School Team Administration of the Year Award celebrates outstanding achievements in the work that takes place behind the game. The Bandits earned this through increasing Corporate Sponsorship by 991% from the previous season, increasing ticket sales 123% from the 2013/14 season, and leading league statistics in social media and Bandits TV broadcast viewership.

One of the ABL’s highest honours, the ConocoPhilips Chairman’s Award was presented to Bandits CEO Mark Ready to acknowledge outstanding service, achievement, and assistance to baseball in Australia. ABL stated that Mr Ready’s personal and financial contributions to local baseball via his role as President of Windsor Royals (2013 Baseball Australia Club of the Year) and to the Brisbane Bandits since its 2010 reinstatement and eventual move to Holloway Field made this award selection a clear choice.
