WellDog publishes world’s first videos of gas desorption from coal, shale, and sandstone
Laramie, Wyo (April 15, 2009)—GST-WellDog announced today that it has published video microscopy of natural gas desorption from simulated coal, shale and sandstone reservoirs on its website. The videos are the first that capture the process of natural gas production from those energy resources.
“These videos are a great educational tool for companies, researchers and teachers that are interested in how methane is produced from these reservoirs,” said John M. Pope, Ph.D., president & CEO of GST-WellDog. “We’re pleased to make them available for public use.”
The videos of the desorption process were taken on reservoirs that had been prepared in the company’s unique reservoir simulation laboratory. Simulated reservoirs are regularly used by the company to calibrate its commercial reservoir evaluation technical services, as well as investigate the cutting-edge of coal and shale gas reservoir geochemistry.
